Hello Everyone!
As the first trimester comes to an end, I would like to give a huge thank you to all of the parents, students, teachers, and friends of TIDE Academy. Thank you! None of this year so far would have been possible without your support!

Giving Willy Wonka a Run for His Money!!
TIDE’s 1st and 2nd grade students are learning about chocolate. Next month they will be heading over to The Beach Chocolate to conclude the unit! Read more about The Beach Chocolate below!
Get into some messy family fun with the first “bean to bar” chocolate maker in Guanacaste!! The Beach Chocolate is a new chocolate shop located in Playa Potrero that also offers chocolate making workshops for small and large groups. The Beach Chocolate workshop gives folks the unique opportunity to gain a direct insight into the mysteries and myths of cocoa and chocolate. You will be introduced to the natural and cultural history of cocoa while we roast the cocoa beans and prepare your own handmade and unrefined chocolate treats!
Participants will learn why the cocoa fruit does not taste like chocolate, why cocoa is a “super food”, why it is good for your heart and brain – and teeth! You will also learn why “bitter water” might just be indigenously delicious – and that money in fact DOES grow on trees!
After taking the class you will be able to make your own freshly made chocolate at home – and become the big sensation at your next social gathering!
