Moses Rodrigues has been with TIDE since 2016, as the instructor for “Ninja Warrior”, an extracurricular activity that challenges and enhances the student’s physic

al strength, endurance, and coordination, while also helping them gain confidence to overcome fears, persevere, and the ability to respond with problem-solving critical thought.

After graduating from the University of Massachusetts (Dartmouth) for Alternative Energies & Technologies and Bristol Community College for Permaculture & Sustainable Urban Design, he pursued an alternative path of interdisciplinary study through informal research and formal online education offered by various universities and colleges.

As a structuralist-minded teacher with the core guiding values of cooperation, collaboration, creative expression, and critical thought, he aspires to inspire his students to “become the change they want to see in the world.” In order to achieve this, he believes it is crucial to intelligently design the learning environment, in order for students to be able to properly cultivate a “holistic mind”, which he believes is best obtained through exposure to an eclectic range of established knowledge, emergent information, stimulating environments, and thought-provoking experiences.

Outside of TIDE, Moses continues his autodidact lifestyle, which includes the study of philosophy, anthropology, linguistics, psychology, sociology, economics, etc, as well as nutrition and exercise, while also balancing life by gaining hands-on skills from natural earth building, architectural design, and general construction.

Starting this 2017, Moses will become the academic teacher of 4th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as 6th grade Math.
