Laura will be teaching 8-12 Language Arts and 11-12 Social Studies this year at TIDE. As a second career, Laura was a fitness/yoga instructor for 20 years. She went back to school where she studied Early Childhood education with an Specialist in Autism and behavioural science degree. She then completed her B.A.Ed as valedictorian with an Australian university where she was honoured to do a portion of her degree in Australia. She has her Specialist in Special Education, Information Technology and French. Laura’s teaching style focuses on growth mindset and mind up curriculum where she helps students build resilience to stress, and develop a positive mindset in both school and life. She is passionate about cross curricular activities where inquiry based learning promotes rich discussion and it places students responsible for questions, ideas and observations at the centre of their learning experience.
